Haikus and You
ImageBrevity is key,
we often tell our readers.
But how to show it?

Take the haiku form.
Once you master all the rules,
it's pretty simple.

Just know how many
syllables go on each line.
It breaks down like this:

First: five syllables.
Second: seven syllables.
Third: five syllables.

It can be handy
for boiling down your message
to a bite-sized chunk.

This scheme, I'll grant you,
requires some extra thought and
counting on fingers.

But you can use it
as an exercise and cut
superfluous words.

Once in a great while,
your haiku might even make
stellar* ad copy.
